Consumer Information
Since 1993, the state has collected and published data about hospital charges as well as measures of quality of care. However, charge data do not give consumers the complete picture. Consumers want to know what their out-of-pocket costs will be, and they want this information in advance. Texas hospitals support providing consumers with all of the information they need to compare health care providers and make informed choices.
